Traffic is flowing freely at the roundabout intersection of State Highway 29 and Takitimu Drive after a truck and car collided there at about 11.30am.

The truck is believed to have been driving along the state highway towards the Kaimais when the collision occurred.

The car’s side was struck in the crash.

It appears the truck and car have collided in a ‘t-bone’ crash at the roundabout, with the blue station wagon spinning off on impact to come to rest on a grass verge.

The truck has continued along the road a short distance before the truck driver pulled over to return to the scene of the collision.

The truck driver is believed to be unharmed and the man and woman occupants of the car appear uninjured, albeit shaken by the experience.

The driver of the truck moved further along the road for a safe stopping place.
