Slips at Matata, Waiotahi and Waioeka will cause delays for people travelling east on State Highway 2 on Tuesday.
While two of the slips are passable, New Zealand Transport Authority crews are cleaning up there. The slip at Matata is re-opened to two lanes. Another slip between Whakatane and Opotiki at Waiotahi is also in the process of being cleared.
Traffic continues to be diverted past a slip in the Waioeka Gorge east of Opotiki, and that is expected to continue for at least another day.
Extra crews have been brought in from outside the district to help speed up the clearances.
Meanwhile, the diversion past the Maraenui Bluff on the East Cape road, SH35, is continuing with restricted hours for heavy traffic while soft areas of the road are repaired following the weekend rain.
