Motorists are advised to avoid the Tauranga Eastern Link while contractors undertake night time works on the highway.
Night time road repairs will be carried out along State Highway 2 as part at Kairua Road intersection as part of the NZ Transport Agency’s (NZTA) Tauranga Eastern Link project (TEL).
The works will begin tonight for three nights though until Wednesday, 17 October.
NZTA says work will start after and end before peak time traffic and between 7pm and 6am a temporary speed restriction of 30km/h will be in place, along with a manual stop/go operation for both northbound and southbound traffic.
Motorists can expect minor delays.
This work is weather dependant, and if it is wet the work will be take place on the next suitable day.
