Traffic delays expected

Motorists are being warned of delays tomorrow on the Chapel Street viaduct as the Harbour Link Project opens there.

The Dive Crescent roundabout will be closed from Monday morning through till December when the new ramp will be finished.

Harbour Link Project manager Kevin Reid says the Chapel Street viaduct will open to motorists between 4am and 5am on Monday morning.
“I would like to remind people that while motorists familiarise themselves with the new road layouts, traffic flows are likely to be slower for the first few days,” says Kevin.
Tomorrow morning, motorists travelling from Mount Maunganui will notice the biggest change to their morning commute when they are no longer able to access Dive Crescent, Mirrielees Road or Marsh Street directly from the new Harbour Bridge.
Their exit points will be at either the Chapel Street off ramp or from Takitimu Drive onto Elizabeth Street.
