Fatal crash investigation on-going

Police are yet to lay charges in relation to the crash which killed 24-year-old Tauranga man Gregory Woledge.

The young electrician was killed on August 12, when the van he was driving towards Welcome Bay crashed through the bridge railing on the Maungatapu causeway and fell about five metres into Rangataua Bay.

Police are still investigating the fatal crash which killed Gregory Woledge.

Police say it appears a Mitsubishi car travelling towards Mount Maunganui crossed the centreline, colliding with the van causing it to crash through the railing.

Five people, including a police officer who dived into the water to rescue the passenger of the van, were taken to hospital as a result of the crash.
