Eastern Link halfway complete

The Tauranga Eastern Link is on schedule to being completed by the end of 2015 with works underway in Paengaroa.

The $455million NZ Transport Agency project is the largest project in the Bay of Plenty and was originally due to be completed by mid-2016.

The Tauranga Eastern Link is almost complete.

Motorists are being advised to watch out for activity near Mangatawa and Domain Roads at Papamoa in the coming weeks.

Other work to be completed includes a roundabout at Paengaroa.

A 23km four-lane road pavement is also expected to be laid and landscaped, with lighting and barriers to be installed.

Construction on the project began in December 2010.
