Hewletts Road remains the best place to buy petrol in Tauranga city as Gull continues to ride down fuel prices.
Gull service station on Hewletts Road is selling at $1.81.9, with Waitomo selling 91 at $1.82.9.
Gull on Hewletts Road is the cheapest place in Tauranga to buy fuel at the moment.
At 11th Avenue, Z is selling at $1.93, just below the current national average 91 octane price of $1.94 per litre, while Z on Hewletts Road is priced at $1.83.9.
Gull general manager Dave Bodger says further petrol price drops are in the offing following another drop in the ex-refinery prices for bulk fuel at the close of business in Singapore on Friday.
“Last week it sort of stabilised a bit but this is the lowest it’s been,” says Dave today. “It’s just been falling since the middle of October.
“It’s good news for motorists. When we see those numbers we will pass them straight on.”
The cheapest Gull petrol today is $1.75.9 a litre at Te Ngae in Rotorua.
A headline on Stuff this morning suggested that Gull was selling at $1.65 a litre, but that refers to the Gull’s ‘ten cents off’ deal last week.
Petrol prices have fallen 28c in 13 fairly small reductions since mid-October following a 40 per cent fall in international oil commodity prices.
