Emergency services have attended a crash involving two cars on Tairua Whitianga Rd near Whenuakite this afternoon.
Fire and ambulance services attended the accident which saw a car crashing into a power pole and bringing it down shortly after midday.

Northern Fire Communications shift manager Scott Osmond confirms there were no serious injuries as a result of the crash.
“We received the call at 12.08pm and appliances from Cook’s Beach and Hahei were sent along,” says Scott. “An ambulance was also in attendance who assessed the occupants of both vehicles.
“There were no serious injuries and fire personnel aided with traffic management.”
Scott says while the power pole was broken and lines brought down the road was not blocked to traffic.
But as a result of the crash power was cut to around 250 properties in Tairua and Whenuakite this afternoon.
Powerco network operations mManager Phil Marsh says power supply was lost just after 12noon.
“Crews are undertaking repairs which are expected to be completed around 6pm.”
Phill adds that supply has been restored to all but 40 customers.
