The NZ Transport Agency is advising that repair work on State Highway 25 at Moana Anu Anu Bridge near Whangamata will be extended until March 20.
Also known as Wentworth Bridge, the agency says it has experienced difficulties driving some of the new piles into the ground, plus difficult access to connect these piles to the bridge deck.

The NZTA says with the work being extended by around a week they will also take the opportunity to repair the existing timber guardrails.
“This involves replacing some of the timber supports and rails, plus giving them a coat of a paint.”
They wish to thank everyone effected by the repair works for their patience and understanding with the ongoing detour.
The NZTA adds: “Your bridge will be looking sharp and open again for use very soon.”
