Police say a fatal crash near Te Kaha on Saturday afternoon is suspicious, and they want anyone who saw the crash or has any information to come forward.
Police were called at approximately 2:40pm to reports of a crash involving a motorcycle and a van. The motorcyclist died at the scene.
An initial investigation was carried out by the Serious Crash Unit and the crash is now being treated as suspicious, says Bay of Plenty Field Crime Manager Detective Inspector Lew Warner.
The crash occurred on SH35 opposite the Raukokere Marae, near Te Kaha, yesterday afternoon.
Police are also after any sightings of a White Honda Odyssey-type van driving in the area around 2-3pm.
