Bay events:

December 5: Tauranga Toy Run
Classic car lovers can show off their wheels for a good cause with the annual Tauranga Toy Run.  To take part in the run, which is closed to Japanese cars or bikes, drivers must donate to Waipuna Hospice or toys for the Child Cancer Foundation.
Meet by Baypark from 6pm, with the run through Papamoa, the Mount and Tauranga leaving at 6.30pm.

December 6: Baypark Family Speedway Trophy Night
Baypark drivers take on their rivals to earn points towards their coveted class season titles. Racing starts at 6.30pm, with competition in sprint, saloons, super saloons, stock cars, mini stocks and six shooters. Details: www.bayparkspeedway.co.nz/events
December 6: Motorsport BOP Day Night gravel sprint
The first round of the Tauranga Hire day-night gravel sprint series is on at Te Matai Motorsport area at TECT Park. The event, running from 2pm-11pm, will give each driver at least three day runs and three night runs, with prizes for the best speed overall and by class. No entries on the day. Beyond the Bay:

December 5: Meremere Night Speed Drag Wars
The third event in the night speed drag wars championships series, with racing at
Meremere Dragway from 6.30pm. Details: www.dragwars.co.nz

December 5-7: GT Radial Thunder in the Park: Pukekohe Raceway
Spoil yourself with three days of your favourite classes of racing with a range of motorsport that offers something for everyone including GT classes, Porsches, Formula First, Pre-1965s along with muscle car racing. For full details: www.thunderinthepark.com

December 6-7: 2014 Suzuki series round one: Hampton Downs
A top line up of racing is on offer this weekend, with leading Kiwi and international riders doing battle for the Two Wheel Trophy. The series continues at Manfeild next weekend, before concluding at the world famous Cemetery Circuit races on the public streets of Wanganui on Boxing Day.
