August 27: Driver Experience 2016

Hosted by Alfa Romeo Owners’ Club Bay of Plenty at Taupo Motorsport Park. The non-competitive event is designed to appeal to everyone wanting or needing track time, from newcomers to experienced racers. Seize this opportunity to see how you and your car perform in a safe and low cost event as is possible.

August 27: Matahi Rd Tarmac Hillclimb

This event is Round 1 of the Motorsport Bay of Plenty’s Hillclimb Championship is a new venue, sporting 3.8km of county tarmac at Manawahe near Rotoma, which should prove to be a challenge.

There will be practice and three timed runs - fastest run wins, by class and overall.
Roll caged cars only, it will be interesting to see who gets an advantage on the first day of the Hillclimb Challenge.

August 28: Manawahe Gravel Hillclimb

This event is Round 2 of the Motorsport Bay of Plenty’s Hillclimb Championship and is based in the grounds of the Rotoma School.

The iconic Rotorua hillclimb will test the skill of any driver who attempts it with a 3.7km road that twists and turns and deceives you as well as covering you in dust. Details: www.mbop.org.nz

August 28: Ford Muscle Car Club of NZ’s Taupo Track Day

The Tauranga-based club’s annual Taupo Track Day offers the chance for anyone wanting to get in a car and race to do so at Bruce Maclaren Motorsport Park from 8am. Any make and model car can enter – the only rule is road cars need a current Warrant of Fitness, and race cars require a logbook.
Entry is $150 per person. The day finishes with prizegiving at 3pm.
