September 24: Tauranga Street Machines & Customs 39th anniversary car show

Held in conjunction with Greerton Cherry Blossom Festival, car-lovers can park their beauties on Chadwick Rd. The event is free for car entries and show-goers. Chadwick Rd will close from 9am and entry is from Greerton Rd. The show from 10am-2pm is open to hot rods plus American and Australian classics.

September 25: The Distinguished Gentleman’s Ride – Tauranga

One day each year, thousands of Distinguished Gentleman and genteel lady folk in cities worldwide – including Tauranga – press their cravats, starch their tweed and sit astride their classic-styled motorcycles to raise funds for prostate cancer research and mental health awareness. Tauranga’s event will begin in the Papamoa area from about 10am and proceed through Tauranga during the morning. Entry is free.

Beyond the Bay

September 17: Paeroa Antiques Fair, Vintage & Classic Car Show

Join Paeroa for a fantastic day of vintage and classic vehicles! Featuring a street parade at 11am as well as an old-fashioned tea party and live entertainment.

Come dressed for the occasion and vote for People’s Choice vehicle. All vintage and classic vehicles are welcome to join the street parade. Be lined up down Taylor Ave by 10.30am to participate. A mystery car ramble starts 1.30pm. Day entry is gold coin donation. Proceeds go to Paeroa Rotary-supported charities. Details www.paeroa.org.nz or Positive Paeroa 07 862 6999.

September 29-October 1: Brits at the Beach

Yes, it’s awhile away but mark it in your calendar, the Brits at the Beach is being held at a new venue – Beach Rd and Titoki Park down by Whangamata’s wharf. So get set for four days’ of organised drives to Grahamstown in Thames, Tairua and Pauanui, plus musical events and a huge village fete, with profits going to local junior sport.
