The NZ Transport Agency is advising motorists to expect delays on State Highway 29 at Maungatapu this week.
The delays and detours are necessary to allow road resurfacing from the Maungatapu Bridge to the Maungatapu roundabout.
Traffic on the Maungatapu Bridge could be slow this week owing to road works.
A detour through Maungatapu will be in place for traffic heading east towards Mount Maunganui whilst the work is undertaken.
Motorists heading north towards Tauriko can expect speed restrictions through the construction activity from the Maungatapu Bridge to the Maungatapu roundabout.
The resurfacing work begins at 9am on Monday, February 20 and finishes for the day at 4am.
Works are scheduled to occur again at the same time on Tuesday, February 21.
There will also be some night time resurfacing activity in this area from 6pm, until 6am on Wednesday, February 22 and on Thursday, February 23.
This work is weather dependant and if it is wet this closure will be moved to the next available fine day.
