She’s ten years old and raring to go.
Nadia Glover is ready to rev it up at Tauranga Street Race this Sunday, November 9. She is pictured in her new kart, accompanied by proud father Steve and friend Katrina Gould.
Nadia Glover’s been burning up the Bay of Plenty Kart Club’s Fagan’s Valley track at every opportunity over the last few months to obtain her B licence in time to enter the Castrol Tauranga Street Race on this Sunday, November 9.
The B licence qualifies Nadia to race in invitation events.
Nadia has been kart racing in the 85cc Cadet Class for about three years, after being inspired by the first Tauranga Street Race in 2005. She has now outgrown this class and will be racing a bigger, faster 100cc kart in the Junior Restricted class this weekend.
“They’re a lot faster and a lot more fun,” says Nadia.
Sunday is Nadia’s first chance to drive on the road, and she is looking forward to driving in the competition.
“I like beating the boys,” says Nadia.
“Everybody should do it because it’s heaps of fun.”
While Nadia is licensed to race this weekend, it will be a few years before she is able to drive along Cameron Rd when it is not part of a race circuit.
