Two injured, motorcycle v car

A motorcyclist in his 50’s and his pillion passenger were airlifted to Waikato Hospital after their motorcycle collided with a car near Hikuai yesterday.

The Westpac Auckland Rescue Helicopter Trust says the male motorcyclist suffered serious multiple injuries following the crash on the Kopu-Hikuai Road/State Highway 25A on Sunday night.

Fairfax reports the pillion passenger also suffered serious injuries as a result of the crash that occurred shortly before 6.20pm.

Emergency services were dispatched to the scene of the accident, including the recue trust’s Westpac One helicopter who later transported both the rider and pillion passenger to Waikato Hospital.
