March 1: All Ford Day - Blake Park

Tauranga’s Ford Muscle Club will hold its annual celebration of everything relating to the oval blue badge with a display of Fords at Blake Park. The fundraising event for Child Cancer Foundation’s Tauranga branch, will run from 10am-3pm, with

March 14: Midget Championships – Baypark Speedway

Looking for action? The Flamecrusher North Island Midget Championships promises plenty of on-track excitement, with supporting action from sprint cars, super saloons, mini stocks and saloons. Gates open at 5pm, with racing from 6.30pm.

March 15: Hillclimb - Ngongotaha

Round 3 of Rotorua Car Club’s Ngongotaha Hillclimb will be held on Mountain Rd, following the earlier two rounds on the tarmac road in February. The event earns points for Motorsport BOP Club’s championship series.  Details: www.mbop.org.nz

February 28: Junior Dragster Champs – Meremere Dragway

Upcoming young dragsters will compete at Meremere in the hope of carving out a name to be watched. Gates open 9am with racing from 10am.

March 14-15:  Hot Rod Nationals – Meremere Dragway

Bragging rights are up for grabs at the New Zealand International Hot Rod

March 25-29: Beach Hop – Whangamata

Classic motoring enthusiasts and fans of all things Americana are in for a treat with the annual Repco Beach Hop offering a week of events and entertainment starting with the Go Waihi Warm-up party on March 25, culminating in the Meguiars Main Street Car Show in Whangamata on Saturday March 28 and the Coca Cola Nostalgia Surf Fest on Sunday March 29.  Details: www.beachhop.co.nz
