March 15: Hillclimb - Ngongotaha

Round 3 of Rotorua Car Club’s Ngongotaha Hillclimb will be held on Mountain Road, following the earlier two rounds on the tarmac road in February. The event earns points for Motorsport BOP Club’s championship series. Details: www.mbop.org.nz

March 14-15:  Hot Rod Nationals – Meremere Dragway

Bragging rights are up for grabs at the New Zealand International Hot Rod Association Nationals, with events in all classes including modified bike, top street, competition, supercharged outlaws, and top alcohol.  Racing from 10am. Details: www.dragway.co.nz

March 25-29: Beach Hop – Whangamata

Classic motoring enthusiasts and fans of all things Americana are in for a treat with the annual Repco Beach Hop. The week of events and entertainment starts with the Go Waihi Warm-up party on Wednesday, March 25, followed by the Meguiars Main Street Car Show in Whangamata on Saturday, March 28, and culminating with the Coca Cola Nostalgia Surf Fest on Sunday, March 29. April 4-5: Nostalgia Drags – Meremere Dragway

The annual event organised by Bay Rodders will see a wide range of dragsters from across the North Island competing in classes from pre-49 rods to pre-72 models, flatheads, and bangers.
