The school holidays has ended on a sour note for one Tauranga business.
Mike Head from Minicars.NZ says a popular weekend treat for kids from around the Bay of Plenty is a visit to Memorial Park on 11th Ave where there is mini golf to play, mini cars to drive and mini trains to ride.
“Well that was until last week when some unscrupulous scoundrels broke into the Mini Golf Fun Park and made off with a number of Mini Cars, bringing the operation to a standstill.”
Mike says park owners are determined to reopen once they’ve beefed up security, which will include up to the minute iPhone security systems.
“In the meantime the kids have been robbed of fun and their parents are not happy!
One of the cars stolen was a one-of-a-kind Volvo CX90.
Licensed by Volvo, this distinctive ride on kids’ car is painted blue with a leather seat and wood-grained dashboard.
“It’s the only one in the country so if anyone has seen it or knows of its whereabouts – you have information that could lead to an arrest”
Minicars.NZ is offering a reward if the thief is brought to justice, says Mike.
“So if you have seen the Volvo or know anything about this immoral burglary please contact Police on 0800SPEAKUP and Quote Case File # 180717/4860.”
