Car enthusiasts from throughout the North Island are in Tauranga this weekend, June 26 and June 27 for Bay Rodders annual Winter Blast and Swap Meet event.
More than 85 cars participated in the Winter Blast component of the event consisting of a car trial throughout Tauranga, Mount Maunganui and The Lakes on Saturday.

Bay Rodders president Dean Anderson says as part of the cruise the participants completed a task at each destination and gained points for each task.
The Winter Blast finished at 2pm Saturday and is the 5th year Winter Blast has been running.
Dean says a winner will be determined at the prize giving on Saturday night where 200 people are to attend.
“The best cars will get a trophy and prizes as well.”
On Sunday, Bay Rodders is hosting a swap meet at the Spring Street Car Park and people can bring in their old car parts and sell them.
Dean says the swap meet is also a good opportunity for people to look at the automotive displays.
“There are cars from all over the country on display.”
The swap meet runs 9am-2pm and entry is $5 for the public.
